Re: The official Tampa Bay Buccaneers thread; the Greg Schiano era (2012-)

I have some pretty high expectations for this team this year. I only wish we had at least ONE really good pass rusher. It's seriously the only thing we're missing at this point. An upgrade at tight end couldn't hurt, but the rest of the offense is really solid. Just need a good defensive end.

Buccaneers have to be the most overrated team in the decade.Gosh they think Josh Freeman can actually do something and Darrelle Revis is going to get injured again most likely. Also Go PANTHERS!!!

Have you guys be watching the preseason games? The only one I've watched is last night's. I feel another 6-10/7-9 year. The team liked pretty similar to last year: decent-good running game, average protection, Freeman shook when pressured, opposing QB has time to pay his taxes in the pocket. Revis can't cover forever.

Freeman has no exxuses. Most weapons we've had since I've been a fan.

No idea what to do about a pass rush. Still don't understand why we went after 0 DE's during free agency.

Pass rushing and Freeman are the only major weak links I saw coming into the season. The rush defense was outstanding, rushing game was awesome, and even the receivers overachieved IMO.

I just don't know if we can win with Freeman. Brad Johnson wasn't that much better, though.

I feel like we would be playoffs bound in most any division except the NFC South. It's going to be tough.

I didn't get to see the whole game last night, but from what I saw, it seems like the offensive line is a good enough excuse for Freeman to struggle. Seemed like every throw he was making was while getting hit. It was the same way against the Patriots for the one or two series he was in for as well. I don't understand why an offensive line as skilled as ours has been so horrific.

I'll give you that, but he still holds on to the ball or starts getting happy feet. He no longer uses his feet to take off or create something.

Yeah, I find that to be kinda bizarre. I remember his first and second years in the league, one of the things that impressed me the most about him was that he had a knack for evading sacks in the pocket and shaking defensive linemen off of him and extending plays. It seems like he's gone to the other extreme now.
