man... I hate to do the typical automatic negative thing as a Lions fan, but the old boys hirings of his Syracuse dudes... idunno. I want to let things play out before I get mad (which isn't easy as a Lions honk), but I'm leery. NFL is "old boys" in general so I'll just take it as business as usual and trust this will be the time it works!

Taking Frank Ragnow at 20 was probably a bit of a reach, but I bet Cincy would have taken him at 21 had we not. Our center play was atrocious last season, Ragnow is probably a big upgrade there already.

I was annoyed at first, Derwin almost fell a couple more spots, and then Landry was there and we took the center anyway. But then I'm like meh, it was a need so it's not like we just randomly went off the board. Makes sense, and at least we didn't go TE haha

At some point, one of these running back picks is going to work out...

EDIT: I like the Tracy Walker pick.

Re: Lions' War Room (Established 2004)

I think the Lions' problem with running the football has as much to do with scheme and line play as it does the actual RB's on the squad. I'm not saying we've had Barry 2.0 on the team at any point in the last 2 and 1/2 decades, but scheme-wise, we must have the most regressive running attack in the league by a wide margin. Perhaps it's a personnel issue, but I doubt that's the whole story.

I have no idea if Kerryon Johnson will pan out, but I know that if we keep running the same high school dive plays and poorly blocked zones that we always do, the results will be the same as they ever were...

Re: Lions' War Room (Established 2004)

It bugs me we went the first three rounds without touching DL

Nothing against Frank or Kerryon, they again fit needs, but man that DL is so bad

Hopefully Kerryon lives up to the Le'Veon Bell comparison hype, football Lord knows the Lions could use a break like that

Not that it matters, but I'd never heard of Tracy Walker and my first thought was "is he Bracy Walker's kid?"

Hand is fine as an interior lineman, but he doesn't solve our issues with the pass rush. Maybe they can pick up someone from the post-draft FA pool.
