How many OSers went back to NHL 2K8?

hey guys, i tried to force myself to play NHL 2K9 bc im a huge fan of their NHL games. i'd turn the game on, play about a half of a period and turn it off every time. this year for me its just tough to get into.

hopefully NHL 2K10 will be a solid product, but for the rest of this year when i need my 2k hockey fix, NHL 2K8 it is.

its rough passing with the RB or even the A button though. since im so use to the R-Trigger for EA's game..

anybody else go back to 2k8?

i would love to have updated rosters, but i think im just gonna do a fantasy draft..

If there won't be a patch, i just can't play 2K9 :/.

I have an Xport but I don't have Xbox Live....and I believe there's no way of sharing 2K8 rosters...I tried last year and was told there's no way of doing it...

hmm could ya try? lol i would love to be able to have updated rosters.. i have xport as well as xchange..

i think the key to some of these transfers is that you need to save your profile on the memory card as well.

could ya try and upload them?

I haven't gone back. Then again, I haven't played any 2k9 either for weeks. Same goes for NHL 09. I dunno, both games just aren't holding my interest this year. 2k9 isn't that bad, but I'd like to see a roster update. EA has been unbearable and I'm waiting for the patch to see if it gets more playable so I can continue my BAP. For now, I've been spending my time with GHWT and watching hockey.

If I hadn't given it away, I'd probably be playing it still. 2k8 was a great game. I haven't touched 2k9 in weeks, and I gave NHL 2009 away after about a week.

I tried going back to play 2K8 and just couldn't. NHL 2K9 needed a couple of more months of dev time to trim it out a little more. The most annoying thing is that there is no option to save a camera preference so the user has to pause and change cameras every game. The gameplay and animations are top notch though. I'm really looking forward to 2K10.

Just went back the once and you called me on it:wink:
The cpu with good sliders is just a real challenge to play against they can hit you from all ways granted it may have a little to do with less defensive control but the game has that play a perfect game or you wont win feel which EA's game does so well.
But with 2k you can throw in the way the puck bounces off the boards the way you can just stand in front of a shot and you will block it the bounces the looseness the no time to ponder on the puck with out getting blasted.
Just seems to me , the way you have to move the puck in 2k9 is more like it is in the NHL.
I love the feeling of all the congestion and then the puck breaks free and you have some open ice.

The game is wonky sure but man it feels like an NHL game to me, i cant play EA having got some sliders i like in 2k i just think its so much deeper.

Yeah, let me see what I can do to get them up...with my profile or maybe under a generic Player 1 profile...The only thing I didn't do with the rosters was change the ages on the 22-32 year old players and some of the jersey numbers..

anything is better than nothing man lol..

yeah, make up a generic OS profile or something, save that, then the rosters as well on the memory card.. upload using your pc and lets see what happens lol..

I only have Xchange360 and it can't open those roster files that you uploaded. So could someone tell me where i can get that Xport program? Or could someone upload an Xchange360-version of those rosters? Thanks!

well, tried for an hour last night... i cant get my xport or even my xchange to work. i dont think they are compatiable with vista.. when i get in from work i'll do some diggin and grab the ladys laptop and see if that will work..

this IMO can def be done with xport...
