Icon5 Should I buy it?

Is the game worth buying? I purchased NHL 09 and was very disappointed in there not being an online feature. No way to update rosters or go head to head against people, very very disappointed. And their Be a Pro was not as cracked up as I thought it would be. So, my question is should I purchase NHL 2k9? Does it have an online mode? Do they have semi-recent roster downloads? How is the game play?

Let me know what you all think.

What are you talking about? There are a lot of online features in NHL 09, roster updates, online team play, online head-to-head, etc.

2K9 is a pretty good game. It has its flaws, mainly graphics and a CPU offense that is not very creative or potent but it's still very good. I'm not an online gamer at all so I can't compare the online portions of 09 and 2K9. There is online head-to-head and online 5 vs 5. There has not yet been a roster update released but one should be coming soon.

^^^ What Mercalnd said.

2K9 is decent, but they really need a roster update. And new player models, especially for the close-ups.

Overall, I like it, especially since it's cheaper than NHL 09.

In that case I'm sorry that I can't help you. I have not played the PS2 versions of the hockey games.
