NHL 2k10 Boardplay/Pinning Tutorial

Firstly this is a tutorial for guys who wanna know how to pin. There are 2 easy ways to do it, 1) go to practice mode with 2 controllers and get a feel for it, and 2) If you have NHL 2k5 lying around, go to Gary Thornes tutorial vid and watch.

Ok, for the guy who wants to pin, the instructions are simple, Skate up behind your target who is facing the boards and tap or hold the check button(doesn't matter, I prefer tap better) and it will initiate. You must not come in at full speed or press it too early or soon. You must be right behind the guy.

*TIP*: Try and line up your guy with the opponents number on the back of the jersey to initiate pin.

Controls for Pinning (PS3) Pro Control:

R1(tap or hold): Pin
Square:Shove the pinned guy, but it releases the pin right after
O: Lets go of the pin
LS, inverted: move around the pinned target while pinning

360 Pro:

RB(tap or hold): Pin
X: Shove the pinned guy, but it releases the pin right after
B:Lets go of the pin
LS, inverted: move around the pinned target while pinning


When you are being pinned, you can pass the puck or elbow

Controls for Being Pinned(PS3) Pro Control:

Square: kick the puck
O:elbow to release pin

360 Pro:

X: kick puck
B:elbow to release pin.

While in a pin, you can press A (Xbox) to take control of another player to try an come in and fish the puck out.

Oops, thanks Finn. I forgot the most simple control, changing player. Oh well..
