Just Bought the game

Ok,

I bought NHL 10 upon release. The AI is so messed up in the game I eventually traded it in. Can anyone give me some pointers on sliders and rosters to get a good hockey sim going? I hope I made a good choice. At $35 Canadian how good I pass it up,

if you bought it for the 360....you made a great choice as the patch just came out and made the game significantly better.

as for sliders.....the most popular sets are from original 6 and venom. I use my own , and I think that each should have their own.

The most important things you want to do is to lower checking effectiveness on both sides I have mine at 20/100 for both me and cpu.

Also, you want to mess around with the tendency sliders for the cpu.

put shot tendency at 0 ( way too shot happy on default)
pass tendency 80
dump tendency 80

those are IMO the most important ones....the other sliders you will change according to your style of play.

Thank you for the input. I have a 360 so I will have to download the patch. Did you have sliders for EA NHL 10? I think I used them. Would you mind posting your sliders?

Phillyfan, I have dump at 0 and pass at 0 but one timer at 95 and the CPu dumps alot and cycles.

The reason behind Dump Frequency at 0 is because it goes to the teams actual tendency to dump instead of forcing them to dump in certain situations. I had dump at 100 but they would dump it into my zone after the opening faceoff. It just looked stupid IMO.

i will try your idea on this....

what do you have for shot tendency? also 0 ?

indeed. Almost forgot, I think CPU Def Aggr has something to do with how they run there offense.
