The changes are pretty subtle, so I wouldn't judge it by your first games with it. With the changes, any slider sets you are using will need to be altered, because the game has been made faster under the hood.
The biggest things that help the sim game are one timers in front being mostly redirects now, more pinning, collision detection on defensive stick sweeping, and movement changes. And goalies not doing frequent diving pokes really helps them out."
So, it wasn't me imagining things! I thought the game speed was noticeably faster, skating more fluid, board pinning much easier and frequent, stick collisions better, defensemen turning improved, and a looser overall feel. Very awesome news.
Hopefully positive feedback from this will prompt 2k to patch the PS3 and Wii versions.
