I haven't played a NHL 2K game for awhile now, going back to NHL 2K5, but the one thing I did love about that game specifically in the franchise was that you had editing ability over almost everything, so you could easily alter things in the game to what is happening in real life. The question I'm asking is what game would be best for this and best for me to play, I'm currently looking at 2K7, 2K8 or even possibly 2K9, I own a PS3 so hopefully one of these would be good and I'm hoping 2K8 or 2K9 because I don't think 2K7 has the new Capitals uniforms, but anyways, tell me, which one should I get?

If you're talking about just one team, then go with 2K8. 2K9 was crap. If you want complete control over all teams, but not quite as deep, 2K10 is a good option. 2K8 has the deepest franchise for 2K Hockey this gen.

2K8- for the cut scenes, 3 stars, deeper game modes, and the best goalie play. Never got its due credit because NHL 08 was so good after taking a year off. I actually like the Pro Controls.

or

2K10- better D & AI, most up to date player photos/equipment, and great goalie play with Shogun's sliders.

Don't bother with 2K9. It's rock em sock em.

Does NHL 2K8 have 30-team control when playing in Franchise mode?

No, only 2K10. 2K8 you can only control 4 at once.

No prob...if on Xbox I think you'll be quite happy with 2K10.

But you can do all 30 teams in a season mode and then make all the trades- that's what I've been doing....

My franchise is broke the 2nd year anyway....I think due to too many created players....
