    Skills Competition questions

OK, I had no problems understanding the penalty shot competition, did OK, need to work on my goaltending and my deking, but I understand that.

Next is the hardest shot competition... How in the hell do you do it? I try to skate up and swing and I can't get it to slap shot it, all he does is like tap it and it just barely slides towards the goal.. LOL Help me!!

Then the sharp shooter contest I had no problems with, I think I won it with 4 out of 5 shooting.

Then the skating where you weave in between those cones, I figured that out, the secret is get a good run down the straight away and a good path in the weaving of the first cones... won that competition, but not by much.

The speed skating I had problems, why do my guys NOT speed burst in this event, they lolly-gag around the rink and the CPU is going like they're going for a gold medal in the winter Olympics. I tried using the speed burst on the straight-aways but it wouldn't let me for some reason.

Can't remember if there's another event or not, I did all this like 3 nights ago.

Can anyone give me tips on the hard shot and speed skate competitions?

    Re: Skills Competition questions

Hardest shot: Skate up with the speedburst (R1) pressed down. Use the right analog stick to shoot the puck, not a button. Pull the rigth analog stick back and then push it forward quickly like the way you swing a club in Tiger Woods.

Speed skating - the "o" (PS2) button is the speedburst and you have to tap it fast.

Next time you play these skills competitions read the directions that precede each one.

Actually I didn't see an instructions when I went to play it. I read through the book as well and tried all the "slapshot" directions I could find... Offensive WITH the puck, Offensive WITHOUT the puck, etc..Not a one mentioned the analog stick..dah well.

          Thanks man, much appreciated
