Another thing I was wondering about is if it could be possible to make the players automatically go into some turning animation or something when they get to close to the boards. That's one of the still unpolished things when players skate straight into the boards so to speak, in real life they turn their bodies to take the hit with their shoulder, they don't skate face first... Now they skate and stop on their stick like it is a magic wall or something with no reaction on the player.


It's really not a biggie but if this could be improved it would be really cool.






And still, the turning around animation, for example when you press the skate backwards button is still way too fast. I think and hope this could be a fixable issue.




Also, the ice that is shiny and has reflections at the beginning of each period, I would almost prefer that being how the ice is all the game. Can that be achieved?




But every game I play now I find new things, new animations, it feels so generic. It's awesome.

DJNEO have you tried using AI for upscaling textures to HD?
ESRGAN for instance?

I've been experimenting with ESRGAN now and I think that it will be really helpful for face texture modding. It can be hard to find really good high resolution textures with the correct face expressions to fit on a model. Now one can upscale the images without them looking blurry.

Thanks for giving an update on the goalie situation. For now I use auto aim so that I can't abuse the weakness more than the computer does.

@DJNEO, perhaps you could work on a "COVID-19 mod" that removes the crowd and creates a HUB-city feel? I am pretty sure this will lower CPU requirement a bit if there was an option to remove the crowd?


It would be an optional mod... Do you think this would be possible?

I installed nikethebike's 2k20 roster (thanks for that) and save my game with F5. As long as the emulator is open, I can jump back to that save with F8 without problems. But when I close the game and restart it (with NHL2K20.bat) and hit F8, I am always back at the "Roster loading screen". Any suggestions?

Start it with the dolphin exe and hit F8 if you don't want the roster loading screen.

That worked, thanks. I noticed two bugs with the roster: Zack Werenski is written "Werenka" and Grubauer has neon green pads. Looks like a missing texture.

Otherwise, great work. I can only play pond hockey properly, time to upgrade my CPU I guess. Is there a slider to increase the game speed a bit?
