Manual aim
Hey guys. I'm loving this game. I loved NHL 2004 last year but I hear 2005 sucks so I tried this one and it's awesome. Question though. Do you guys find the manual aim doesn't work all the time. I hate putting it on auto aim because I think shooting is the most important part of the game so I want to control it, but it's seems to always shoot low even if I go upstairs. Maybe it's just in my head. The nets are smaller on this game than ea's game so maybe it's just harder to see.Tags: None -

Don't know for sure but it might have something to do with what your shot accuracy slider for the human is at.Comment

I bet that does have a lot to do with it. Thanks. I'm sure the games would be competitive on auto shot I just don't want the computer doing that for me. My games have been good anyways. I used some guys sliders and it's great. Both me and the computer score but it just seems like the puck doesn't go where I'm trying to put it alot.Originally posted by AncientMariner1Don't know for sure but it might have something to do with what your shot accuracy slider for the human is at.Comment

Re: Manual aim
The puck almost always went where I held it, but I noticed that I wasn't aiming where I thought I was aiming sometimes. That's not the reason I stopped using it, it was the amount of times I was hitting the post. You have to be real careful with the amount of pressure you use in a direction which I found too hard for me while skating.Comment

Re: Manual aim
Thanks for the input guys. I think you are right about pressure. I tried the target event in the skills to look at the aiming and you're right. Often if you go all the way left you hit the left post and visa versa. I tried going left but not all the way and it still went left but got the target. It's actually pretty cool. The direction covers the whole net posts included. If you go all the way left you're aiming at the left post. It's pretty amazing how accurate they made that. If you hit the post in this game it's not because the game cycled through some possible outcomes for the shot and picked post. (ea). It's because you aimed at the post and hit it. I love it. Cool game.Originally posted by tenthThe puck almost always went where I held it, but I noticed that I wasn't aiming where I thought I was aiming sometimes.
