Really? Attackers always win when I play. The map is way too big to cover defensively.

I've played it a few times.

All three times, we won. It may have been because our team consisted of mostly OS guys on two of the games. As a defender for we dominated at the first set of M-COMS.

I've played it twice (attack once, defend once). As the defenders, we stopped them on the set of MCOMs at the bridge. As the attackers, a bunch of us would get up on the hill next to A (I think) and pick everybody off from there. The probably they had when they were attacking is they didn't have enough medics/assault people as a lot of them were trying to snipe from that ridge.

How do you select gadgets that you use in your class? I unlocked the repair tool etc. and can't equip it.

The tools for the engineer and medic classes are equipped automatically via the d-pad.

Repair tool, medkit/defibrillators, motion sensors, and ammo kits don't need to be selected. They are automatically set into your left right buttons.
