Re: ARMA III

Missed you guys last night again. But I did get some time in some King of the Hill modes and running some Coop on that 7th Cav server Phobia posted a few pages back.

Guys there are serious and make the game fun. I didn't do too much communicating though because I felt like I was doing something wrong.

I just stuck with my team and listened to the squad leader. Those 60 man Coop CTI missions are crazy.

Sorry I missed your message last night, I have steam notifications turned off so while I'm in game I don't see constant pop ups happening.

You should see our real 7th Cav operations, everyone has a job and we set all our task force radios to our squads radio channel. We then move in complete formation 24/7, there is zero lone wolfing. Clearing building by cross or hook clearing tactics is a blast also.

I played on the 7th Cav public a lot before we started getting some OS guys finally playing. I enjoy the public server but it is no where near as fun as playing a mission with buddies. Plus I enjoy running mods much more than the vanilla, once you get use to how the enemies drop with AGM enabled its hard to go back.

I've enjoyed becoming a 7th Cav member but it is not easy. Hell even qualifying in boot to become a member is tough. The rifle range you get two attempts to qualify, its 40 targets ranging from 100 to 400 meters with open sights. You must hit 26 out of 40 with only 1 round spent per target. I finished with 23 my first attempt, figured I would not get it on my second attempt BUT I turned it on and hit 36 out of 40 on my last attempt to score my marksman patch.

Other rules is mandatory check ins once a week and mandatory training requirements.

Re: ARMA III

Ok guys, I got us setup for Missions. I did some research on good quality missions. Some are campaigns which we can work our way through the missions.

First up is a 12 mission campaign.

Quote:
FHQ Coop Pack

Mission Content:
Mountain King (Altis): A NATO recon team has to raid CSAT sentry camps that guard vital supply routes.

Point insertion (Stratis): A NATO infiltrator unit is tasked with destroying costal defenses in preparation of the invasion of the island of Stratis

Convoy Rogain (Stratis): Infiltrator unit Shark is to ambush a convoy brining troops to Camp Rogain.

Movers (SP/CO08-12, Altis): After dismantling of outpost Demeter, a group of AAF soldiers must protect the trucks carrying the equipment back to Syrta. This mission can be played with 8 or 12 players. If 8 players are available, the convoy drivers should remain AI and the convoy can be radio controlled to start or stop.

A Man of Faith (SP/CO16, Altis): CSAT soldiers try to destroy a downed CSAT drone to prevent the technology from falling into enemy hands (Workshop)

Flycatcher (SP/CO16, Altis): After one of their secret camps is detected, a bunch of FIA fighters launch a desperate attempt to shoot down the plane bound to bomb their comrades (Workshop)

Plant your Fields (SP/CO16, Altis): A large, combined arms attack on Sofia

Screw Driving (SP/CO06, Stratis): After a breakdown of their convoy, the survivors try to escape the island

Ping Pong (SP/CO08, Altis): After a ship housing a secret service cell is sunk after hitting a mine, a team of divers is sent in to retrieve a valuable communications asset that went down with the ship.

Castle Wolfenstein (SP/CO16, Altis): NATO assaults an old castle, but first, AA has to be disabled.

Choplifter (CO13, Altis): After their lab has been destroyed, a few defecting scientists wait for NATO to pick them up.

Finder's Keepers (CO11, Altis): A group of FIA rebels tries to take control of a broken down AAF APC to enable them to strike at a nearby base.
Next up, we get to play the bad guys!!

Quote:
Persian Tale

Description:
This what you always want, but never were enough brave: be the bad guys and invade a small Aegian country, by the evil Persian armed forces. You are a squad leader in a platoon supported by armors. You tasks are different, but the goal is to occupy Altis, before NATO send more troops.
If you like my ArmA 2 campaigns (eg: Chesty Puller, PIROG, Mighty Justice...) you will like this, because it's not a small team mission: you are not a spec ops guy! You eat spec ops guys with your support for breakfast. Mission as usual: huge battles and you are only a small gear in the box. But a very important gear.

Missions:
Mazi beachhead: The landing on Altis.

Force Recon: Make more space to invasion forces and eliminate AAF's artillery.

Goose Green: A night assault against a larger town.

Clear: Clear the resistance from our vicinity.

Narrow Pass: Join your platoon again to continue the assault against AAF's North.

Second Front: Sabre platoon got a new order to force a landing at Northern Altis and attack the AAF's back.

Pandora's Box: CSAT won the battle for Altis and Sabre team has to escort a specialist team.
Next up is the highly rated, small squad campaign.

Quote:
H.A.R.D.C.O.R.E. Coop Campaign

Description:
H.A.R.D.C.O.R.E. stands for 'Harmonized Anti-Respawn Designing. Cooperative, Ordered and Randomized Engagements.'

HARD means 'feasibility'.
Missions are designed not to feature AI or player respawn from the bottom-up.

CORE means 'plot with replayability'.
AI units are strategically placed, yet never at the same location from one attempt to another.
Players are meant to play collaboratively, and they fight for a reason.

These missions are for players like me who love: 1) working in a team; 2) feeling scared of dying; 3) knowing why they're fighting.
They should offer feasible, replayable challenges, and hopefully meet the highest standards of mission designing.

Description:
Game mode: Coop 1-5
All missions were tested thoroughly on dedicated servers with vanilla DEV builds.
Addons required: None
All missions contain their own scripts to enhance AI-behaviour.
Compatibility with AI-enhancing mods has been tested with ASR AI and TPWCAS, and both work..
Core game style: infantry vs. infantry + armour
About Join In Progress (JIP): It should work, but it is recommended players start together.
Respawn: Psycho's revive system

Features:
Clear, specific objectives;
Random yet strategic AI placement;
Simple AI behaviour enhancements;
Full briefings, including OFP-like notes;
No flexibility.
Respawn: NONE

Mission content:
High Noon: Take advantage of the scorching sun to sneak into enemy territory, blow up a petrol station and vanish at sea.

Flare Wolves: It's pitch-dark, and you have been informed that a high tech enemy chopper will be landing and resupplying in a near-by base. Flare your way to the base (nobody has NVGs), destroy the chopper and come back home.

Fire-Cutters: It's dawn. The enemy has found your camp! Escape - and retaliate if you can.

Hack n' Blast: The most complex mission. Hack the enemy's transmissions, destroy a bridge - and a convoy if you can.

In Cold Moon: A death-squad officer and his men are quartering in a village. They are slaughtering everyone in the village. Kill the officer and vanish in the swamps.

One Hell Swoop: Friendly guerrillas are taking a drubbing in a small town. You've volunteered to HALO there to support them. Intense urban combat to seek and destroy armored vehicles.

LRRP OPs: Long-Range Penetration Patrol. HALO deep into enemy territory, locate, paint and destroy targets.

Data Raze: Grab three laptops and run
Next up is a single mission.

Quote:
Making Entry

Description:
In preparation of an invasion your team is tasked with clearing out an overwatch position on the ocean, and attacking a stronghold after that. When that is done, you have to move to the exfiltration point.
Last up, a interesting take on a civilian formed army. Coop campaign.

Quote:
When Civilians Series

Description:
A series of missions that form a story arc for a fictional group of soldiers called the Civillian Army, or CIVA for short.

Features:
6-12 players
Completely random gear each playthrough.
- Weapons
- Hats
- Eyewear
- Armour
- Clothes
- Items
Grenades
- Attachments
Mission parameters
- Play missions at night instead of day
- Increase/lower the difficulty by giving yourself more time for objectives
Editor placed buildings
Urban Patrol Script
FHQ TaskTracker
Statistical-Based Visualizations (Simplified)
Custom music

Mission Content:
The missions are chapters in the story, in order they are:
When Civillians: Clear! CO 08: A tense locate & destroy mission in foggy Agia Marina, clear the fog so reinforcements can arrive.

When Civillians: Attack! C0 12: A simple attack Agia Marina mission with additional side objectives (randomly picked at mission start).

When Civillians: Defend! CO 12: A simple defend Girna mission, repel OPFOR attackers. Respawn enabled.

When Civillians: Infiltrate! CO 06: Steal a supply helicopter at Mike-26, load it with supplies from Kamino Firing Range and deliver them to Pythos island.

When Civillians: Rescue! CO 12: Race against OPFOR to save CIVA Generals in Tsoukalia.

When Civillians: Escape! CO 08: Fix a helicopter at The Spartan and get off Stratis before the island is destroyed.
More to come, but I'm getting us setup for hundreds of hours of missions.

Re: ARMA III

Guys, I created a group on steam to make it easier to find us.

It's called OS ArmA

I will invite those on my list and make Phobia the head dog and he can invite the rest.

It's just a steam group like the OS group but just will have us who plays ArmA. I tied the group to ArmA 3.
