SSB ripoff or not, I'm down! Just need to know the release date now.

Rumored to have existed for several months under the moniker Title Fight, PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is currently under development at SuperBot Entertainment (with the help of Sony's super-powered group at Santa Monica Studio). And after getting extensive hands-on time with the game, it's difficult not to get excited about the possibility that, while incredibly and undeniably similar to Smash Bros., it could turn out to be a very strong game in its own right.

I feel the exact same way, it's a smash bros rip-off but since Nintendo messed it up with the terrible online support I'm glad to get a game like this with proper online support. Definitely picking this up!!

It's hilarious on GAF, the pitchforks are out about this game being such a ripoff of SSB. As much as its a ripoff, I think its not a bad idea considering that they have such a huge roster of characters they can use + expect tons of DLC. From the one interview last night, it sounds like this game has been in the works for sometime. I wonder if MSFT will attempt something similar.

Anyway, I'm sold, looks fun. They have to have Kevin Butler in game though, if not it'll be really disappointing.

If you include 3rd party and they dig back into the original Xbox, I think they would have enough. I think that Sony will also dig into some of their 3rd party titles from PS1/2 era for this.

I don't see why people are complaining, is it very similar?....yes, but why mess with a formula that is done well. You start with that foundation and improve on it, I think the DLC thing could be great and I'm just curious to see what third party characters they get, because smash brothers had a great roster, I just need an equivalent to my Donkey Kong and I'm good!

Looks pretty dark and edgy in visual style so I don't know how much it will attract the kiddies as SSB did, but this is right up my alley.
