Calling your character as He/She/whatever is stupid because the character's name is V regardless of gender so shouldn't all the NPC's refer to you as V?

I would imagine that character would be called "V" by NPC's, much like how in Mass Effect the main character was referred to as "Shepard" regardless of Gender.

Seeing some other comments I do hope that this doesn't result in a situation where NPC interactions are generic. Going back to Mass Effect (and similar games) it was always a nice touch how dialogue options would slightly change just by changing the character's gender. But considering how good CDPR has been with everything I'm going to be optimistic that won't be the case.

In real life, when people talk, you naturally refer to a person's gender. You normally would say hey this is Bill, he did this. Or you will say hey Bill, how is it going man ? Or hey Mr Bill.

They had to do the same thing with Mass Effect Andromeda and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Hell they even changed the ending and one of the DLC's for Odyssey to make it gender neutral. So it isn't like video games haven't done it before.

I bet they ain't treating this with rpgness in mind, but as pure window dressing. NPCs won't be that reactive and thus this option will be a pointless oddity, really just feels like they did this at the last second "oi mark make a change to the character creation ui and unlink voices so they can be selected independently of their physical appearance, k thanks!"

Reminds me of Ghost in the Shell with the ability to easily switch bodies to the point that being male/female is meaningless.
