Re: The Witcher 3

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, this game is a system seller for me. I haven't decided which one yet, but a next gen console will be bought because of this game.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Re: The Witcher 3

Most underrated game of E3...one of a few where I saw it and thought "now that is next gen". Can't wait.

CD Projekt Red runs Good Old Games, which makes a big selling point out of having no DRM, and there are few studios publishing titles of this size that have such a visible anti-DRM stance. Eurogamer says they're bristling at the guilt-by-association from appearing at Microsoft's event.

"We couldn't simply not release The Witcher 3 on Xbox One," CEO Marcin Iwiński told Eurogamer. "We want to make sure that every single player will have access to our game and thus decided to deliver for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. There are people who don't mind the DRM protection and will pick Xbox One as their platform of choice. We can't punish them."

Earlier, he said that "if you want the 100 per cent DRM-free experience you will have it on the PC, the platform where we set the rules for our games. The Witcher 3 will be available 100 per cent DRM-free on our digital distribution platform GOG.com, and that's one thing I can confirm."

Re: The Witcher 3

I agree that no one should miss out on this game from the way it is shaping up.

Seriously, when it comes out I might need to cancel my real life at that time

They gotta abide to Microsoft if that's the case.

Knowledgable gamers will know the truth.

“From our perspective, we’ll always choose the most gamer-friendly solution,” Iwinski said. “And on the platform where we have control—which is PC—we’ll release on GOG day one and DRM-free.”

As for DLC, Iwinski said CD Projekt will charge for new adventures and stories, but minor things like new gear will be free. That policy might change on the console platforms, but the developer said it’s working to provide the fairest deal for consumers.

I saw the 45-minute presentation at E3 and it was even more impressive than everybody is saying, if that's possible.
