They lost a lot of sales with a timed exclusive. Some of us would have bought this over Fallout 4 on PS4. Now when they try to stick me with the $60 price tag down the road for a game that's been out for a while, I won't buy it.

I have a funny feeling if this were a timed PS4 game you wouldn't have the slightest bit of a problem with it. Oh well, your loss.

I think it's a big gamble for Crystal Dynamics to make this a timed exclusive on X1 and release it a year later to possibly go up against another treasure seeker by the name of Drake on the ps4. Going to be curious seeing how sales are on that system when facing him. I was a huge fan of the 360 version of this game and can't wait to check out the x1 sequel but it will be some time before I can get to it. Still slogging thru witcher 3, bats, metal gear, etc.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

If you guys want to continue with pointing out the blatantly obvious and making snide comments that would be great.

I'm not trying to convince anyone to feel how I do about it. I was simply giving some thoughts..

I wasn't even thinking about the release of UC4... That's a good point. That makes the purchase even harder to make. I'll end up with both Tomb Raider and Drake eventually.

I'm jealous, but if we get a definitive edition (with all the DLC) for the PS4 next year, I'll be OK.

Curious, who do you think lost a lot of sales? Because it's not Square Enix as im pretty damn sure that whatever Microsoft paid them in order to make the game a timed exclusive was more than what it's most likely going to sell considering all the excellent games that have come out and are still to come this year.

If any company is going to lose anything, it's Microsoft but that's a good thing because I think that this game is going to be their last in regards to paying a third party for a timed exclusive.

Personally, im a gamer first and foremost and quite simply, I wanted to play this game so much that I purchased an Xbox One this past Saturday as I don't want to wait and I think that there will be more games that I want to play a year from now then there is so I was like, what the hell, im a gamer and ROTTR seems to be one hell of an excellent game and I enjoyed the first one of this rebooted trilogy so why not buy an Xbox One?

I was feeling the same way but this game and Quantum Break will easily justify the decision to purchase of an Xbox One a few days ago. Add in the great deal I was able to get at Best Buy and quite simply, why not?

Crystal Dynamics had nothing to do with making this game a timed exclusive. Microsoft made Square Enix an offer and they accepted. Crystal Dynamics is simply the developer which is owned by Square Enix. They did an excellent and amazing job based on reviews and scores. I for one can't wait to play this game tomorrow.

If you still own an Xbox 360, you can buy the game for $40 GCU at Best Buy and get a $10 pre-order cert. if you do it tonight. And from what I have read on neogaf, Nixxes did an outstanding job with the Xbox 360 port.

As for Uncharted 4, I know a lot of people like to compare these franchises but they shouldn't because one is an action sequence oriented game while TR is more about stealth, exploration, hunting, crafting, upgrading, scavenging and survival. I love Uncharted but Tomb Raider has more depth to it in my opinion.

Unless Uncharted 4 gets delayed which is definitely possible, ROTTR will do better next year on PS4 than what it will do this year on Xbox One.

I hear you, but I don't really want an XB1. Tomb Raider and the ability to use the Fight Pass app is the only things it offers that I want.

I understand. I purchased an Xbox One earlier this year and sold it a month later simply because there was nothing I wanted to play at the time. ROTTR is said to be very good and if you enjoyed the 2013 reboot, you should enjoy this one even more. I made my decision to buy an Xbox One based on the Best Buy deal (which was better than every Black Friday deal I have seen thus far and that includes Best Buy which has consoles $50 cheaper but no extras), ROTTR and wanting to play it as opposed to waiting a year and the fact that Quantum Break comes out in April which I also want to play. For $222, I did better now than I did six months ago so im a happy camper.

I easily and by far prefer Sony and PS4 but that deal made me say, screw it, I want to play ROTTR. Sad part is that im not finished with AC Syndicate yet and I want to finish it before I start ROTTR. Thankfully, a few more days that should solve both of these problems.

GoW is the only reason I'd be looking to get an XB1 at this point.
My sons want it for Halo as well, but I can't justify having the extra console for 1 or 2 games - even though some of the bundles coming out are priced really well.

I loved the last TR on the 360 and I'm looking forward to the sequel. But I can wait a year. And I'll probably look to buy it on the cheap as well.
There are just so many other games out right now, and will be coming out between now and the release of Tomb Raider on PS4 that I don't mind waiting a full 12 months before getting my hands on this game.

I just recently picked up an Xbox one, they are basically begging people to purchase them by the way they are bundling them. I basically picked it up for the exclusives. Looking forward to this, GOW, Quantum Break and Scalebound. It also gives me the option to choose the best version of a new release too.
