Wasteland 2

After 26 years of waiting Wasteland 2 will finally be here this month. I can't wait. By far the best PC rpg game I ever played.

I remember as a kid this game taking a whole summer to complete. That was back before the internet so you had to figure everything out yourself.

A couple of memories from that game. One thing is you could split up your party and toggle back and forth between each party so you could be exploring 2 places at once.

I remember some drunkard NPC joined my party and I had to go into some cave/dungeon for something and you had to leave someone on the outside to reopen the door so I left the drunkard with his giant hunting knife while I took all the big weapons inside with me. So I'm in the Dungeon and a flips the screen to the outside and a pack of mutant wolves tore him from limb to limb as he tried to fend them off. Then I see the red light kick on my Commodore 64 disk drive......NOOOOOOOOO!!!! It autosaves at that precise moment. For the next two days I tried to find a way out. Nope, that was the only way in or out.

Then there was the part with the boogie man. The game gets really weird toward the end as you get inside the head of some human/robot hybrid almost like a Tron setting. Anyway the Boogie Man stars following me around and taunting me so I fight him. Every time he looks like he's just about dead he whipes me out. This goes on for hours before I realize that the Boogie Man isn't real and act as if he isn't there.

There were a lot of puzzles and other stuff going on, I remember when I finally beat/finished it, it felt like some huge accomplishment and couldn't wait for the sequel that never came.

It looks like the game has evolved and will have combat similar to X-Com.

Should be awesome.

Re: Wasteland 2

Game is really fun. I've played around just enough to get used to it again trying different types of setups etc... Now just waiting for final update.
