I think it would be a brilliant move on their part to move it back to WW1 or WW2 era considering the direction CoD is going

You mean you don't want it to become COD? Shocking.

I really hope it's Vietnam as that era could provide a very engaging single player story mode given all the issues/controversy surrounding it. I'm just not a huge fan of ww1/2 weapons and those eras have been done a lot..

This maybe because I just ended the BoB series for the umpteenth time but I would love to see a BF that follows the lines of the original OSS unit (the first beginnings of Army Green Beret units) in the world war 2 era. Either that or follow the 82nd airborne division. Have that and maybe flip the persona to a boy from Oregon who grew up American but had to answer the German call to fight since his family was German. What an emotional ride that would be just as when I saw it on BoB. That's just me though...anything they decide to do will no doubt be awesome

My first battlefield was modern combat and i prefer that era of warfare games but i had so many friends who loved playing 1942 on the pc.

Cautiously optimistic

Can't wait! Always excited for battlefield news. Hopefully, this one has more of a lasting appeal to me than battlefield 4 did. I don't know what it was with BF4, but it did not last nearly as long as BF3 did for me. I bought BF3 and premium twice on two consoles. I'm not even sure I played that much on BF4 for PS4. It might have been the amount of players in a game. I didn't feel like I had much of an impact in a battle no matter how well I did, but I felt I could control games on BF3 with the much smaller player count.

Like most of you have stated though, hope this isn't futuristic. I'm fine with modern, world war, vietnam era. I just don't want no exo suit things flying around everywhere.

I really want it to be WWII but would be fine with WW1, Nam or Modern. I don't hate sci-fi but when it comes to COD, BF, & MOH I want an authentic realistic wartime setting.
