Not just another Minecraft clone.

So what the hell is this game? It's basically TerrariaxAnimal CrossingxMinecraft set in the Dragon Quest universe.
It is a base builder. You break blocks and build with those blocks. I'd say outside of that, the similarities to Minecraft end. Without going too much into the story, you are the builder of legend. People will want to join your town, and you have to build things for these people. NPCs will give you quests and you get rewards for completing them.
Setting certain things in rooms designates that room. For instance: If you put a bed, a lightsource, a pot and a special sign in a room it designates that room as a private bedroom and you can designate (via the sign) who that room belongs to. Another example would be a chest, a lightsource and a cooking fire in a room makes it a crude kitchen. The NPC villagers will make food in the kitchen and put it in the chest that you can pick up (or leave there) at the end of the day.
There is both a PS4 and a Vita demo version available. I highly suggest checking them out if you have any interest in a game like this - it's very good. The story is ~50 hours long, without taking into account exploring, building and refining your town. Multiple areas accessed via teleporters and boss fights in the game.
You don't level up, but quest rewards items that permanently boost HP and you can create better armor/weapons which is where character strength progression comes from.
All that out of the way - I've had an absolute blast with the game.
Here's a couple screenshots from my basic town I'm working on in the game.
After I got the blueprint for a stockade setup for a gate
