Im kinda burned out on the whole Far Cry(ubisoft) Formula: Climb tower to unlock region, fight region boss, crafting, and needless rpg elements.

Im ready for a radical departure. Otherwise I will probably pass.

I REALLY hope the Wild West rumors are false... No interest in that... Would be really stupid with RDR 2 coming out.

I thought Primal was a good change of pace, but I agree that it's time for them to change up this series a bit.

They won't change a ton, but I'll be able to tell from the info about the game whether or not it'll be different enough.

It's hard. I enjoy the formula and everything that makes it FC, but I need some tweaks.

Like AC, tried getting really into Syndicate, and it was fun, but the formula is getting a bit stale.

Maybe a good change of scenery and less occult and all that in the story? Something modern? I don't know...we'll see what they do. May have to wait a bit, like I probably will on AC, just because of series fatigue.

so it doesn't have the cracks/broken pieces. Maybe this means something regarding a real change. We'll see...

Really wondering what setting they could do in Montana, which to me seems as a really odd place for a game.

A few tidbits....

1. With South Park set for October 17th, Far Cry 5 will be an early 2018 release. Ubisoft goes into the fall/holidays with South Park, ACO, Just Dance 2018 and The Crew 2.

2. Ubisoft doesn't really need to change much in Far Cry 5. The gameplay is the best in the genre and the shooting feels great. They can add a new element or two like the grappling hook in FC4 but I don't want them going off course. The entire game setup can be a copy/paste from FC3/FC4 but with a far greater emphasis on story, characters and the main protagonist and main antagonist. I would be perfectly fine with this. I don't want Ubisoft changing what Far Cry is because more times than not, when things get changed, it turns out to be screwed up.

3. Far Cry 5 is set in modern day Montana. It will not be a wild west game ala RDR which is good because I think the slow pacing of the weapons would actually hurt what Far Cry is.

4. Splinter Cell will be announced and revealed at E3 and is set for a late 2018 release.
