Not to mention $20 down the drain.

Oh wow. I hadn't even thought of that for people who bought the season pass.

I hate to see anyone lose their job. Best wishes to everyone who worked for this company, I've enjoyed many of the games.

I honestly wish they would've changed, or strayed from their episodic model every once in a while. Most of their games were 5 episodes long and they could never deliver those on any kind of a set pattern for customers to anticipate. Because of that, I understand why most people just waited for them all to release at once, or during a sale. I honestly started doing it myself. It would've been cool to see them drop a whole season at once every now and then.
From my understanding they make the episode after seeing the choices from the previous ones so they know what the community is leaning towards.

Well with Mass Effect Andromeda I didn't get a refund for having the season pass.

I knew a lot of people personally who didn't even buy the season pass. They just waited until the complete edition came out with all the episodes and just bought that many months later.

Well that's the same thing, they were the same price. So the question remains, why offer something that hurts their profit margin or bottom line or whatever.

Because they were banking on people buying it upfront like people buy season passes for other games on Day 1, not buying it 8 or 10 months later when everything is all done. When you look at other games like Destiny, COD, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, etc. people buy season pass on Day 1 as soon as they pre-order the game.

A lot of people weren't doing that with Telltale games. They were like yeah I will just buy it after the entire season is done. A season usually lasted a half year or slightly longer.

So it has nothing to do with offering a bundle, but how the episodes were released. Even without the bundle, if people wanted to wait they would've just bought all the episodes individually after they were all released.
