I guess we're just at opposite ends of the Splinter Cell spectrum because my favorites were Chaos Theory being the clear #1 (and also one of my favorite stealth games of all time..right behind Thief 1 & 2), Blacklist and version 2 of Double Agent which was a very different game from the PS3/360/PC version. Conviction was probably the one I disliked the most out of all.

A new SC from UBI would prob be some open world game with checklists, outposts to clear, loot boxes, ect...Splinter Cell doesn't translate to being an easy series to monetize for them. The series is fundamentally a linear, single player experience, something that doesn’t lend itself well to Ubisoft’s current games as a service chase. I’m willing to bet this is why we haven’t seen a new one in 6 years.

Re: Upcoming Games

I wasn't sure where to post this at so this seems like a good spot remastered Ghostbusters

A few tidbits -

Appears a new Darksiders game is coming. Doubt that it will be Darksiders IV so im expecting some kind of spin off. Also, Larian Studios appears to be teasing Divinity Original Sin III.

The rumor mill is giving strong indications that the new Larian game is Baldurs Gate 3. Although I don't like the super high magic combat style of the DOS games, I do think that Larian can do a great job with BG3 if the combat in the vein of BG 1 and 2.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Yeah, I read that a little while ago. Larian is a great development studio so whichever game it turns out to be, it should be very good.

I'd rather it be turn based (they already have a great combat engine in place and would just need to apply the D&D systems & rules to it) as opposed to real time with pause..which can get pretty messy and chaotic when things start ramping up.

For me what would need to change would be the cartoony artstyle and whimsical humor from Larian, which wouldn't fit in a D&D cRPG.

Re: Upcoming Games

Anyone getting 'Control' releasing August 27?

Quote:
Control, according to Puha, will take roughly 10-15 hours to complete for the average player. If someone wants to go hardcore with Control and explore in-depth, complete every side mission, find the lore collectibles and more, then their playtime might run closer to 20 hours.

It's releasing early next year (wish it was a single player campaign). From the creators of Friday the 13th (Illfonic), it will now have the backing of Sony as the publisher. Hey, you never know. Should be hearing more write ups soon. If this turns out good, "I'm going to have me some fun. I'm going to have me some fun."

Predator: Hunting Grounds is an immersive asymmetrical shooter set in remote areas around the world, where the Predator stalks the most challenging prey. Play as a member of an elite Fireteam and complete paramilitary operations before the Predator finds you. Or, play as the Predator to hunt the most worthy prey, choosing from your vast array of deadly alien tech to collect your trophies, one by one.

Re: Upcoming Games

Getting Control via GameFly and very much looking forward to it. Astral Chain will also be a rental via GameFly but later this year when im in the mood to play it with Ultimate Alliance 3 and Link's Awakening Remake.

After Control, I have Gears 5 followed by GreedFall which looks like the AA version of The Witcher III. Also, have The Surge 2 and Code Vein at the end of September.
