I can remember when "Don't Starve" was a big deal, on here. I think a lot of us were obsessed with that game, at one point. Super challenging.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I was a big fan of Both Mercenaries and Mercenaries 2 even with how buggy part 2 was. Fun open world games with lots of great explosion's.

I loved those games. Having the deck of cards as your hit list was a nice touch.

Freedom Fighters - the EA game from early 00s is now on Steam. You play as a "regular Joe" who is recruited into a band of freedom fighters to fight against a foreign army invasion. I remember playing through it, but that's about it.

I spent over 100+ hours in Arma 3 essentially creating an open world campaign in Vietnam during the Vietnam war that was partially inspired by Mercenaries (and The Outfit, if anyone played that), and it was great. I learned so much of the editor before it had the 3D capabilities. I had a good chunk of the thing done and actually had it somewhat optimized for an Arma mission. Before I completed it, a patch came out that made my mission obsolete and I lost all motivation to even try and continue the project because I'd have to start over more or less. Even with the experience I had gained, I had no desire to redo all that I had done to that point.

Sort of off-topic, but I loved the Mercenaries games and I enjoy talking about the 100+ hours I wasted on a mission partially inspired by the series.

I've been playing MLB the Show 14 pretty heavily the last few months. it's been for the roster more than anything. but still, the gameplay had to be good or I couldn't return for such a lengthy stay.

14 is a great game. I may pop that back in again as well in the near future.
