Re: Aliens: Fireteam Elite
Yea I’ll try this since it’s hitting Game Pass. After being strictly on PS4 last gen without an Xbox, and jumping back into Xbox with the Series X and also discovering Game Pass….it’s completely changed the way I buy games. 3rd party game that I might want to play? On PS4 I wouldn’t even hesitate to buy it. Now I just wait to see if it hits Game Pass and honestly so many games have in this scenario for me haha, it’s crazy.Comment

Re: Aliens: Fireteam Elite
I played it when it came out. It was definitely fun, but there was definitely a sense of "what now" after you go through all the missions a couple of times. There is a horde mode that was pretty fun, but overall it just didn't seem to have as much staying power as other games in the genre.
That being said, I think that they have added additional content since release. Maybe it's helped with longevity. Regardless, getting on gamepass is nice because it was fun to play with friends.Comment

Re: Aliens: Fireteam Elite
I’ve never enjoyed shooters, especially first person shooters. Occasionally, I can enjoy a third person shooter, but it has to be an off the wall game like Darkwatch (Cowboys & Vampires).
I still remember seeing the original Aliens as a kid when I was really young. Believe I saw Aliens 2 as a young teenager. I’ve seen other entries in the Aliens franchise over the years as well. I’m not an Aliens fanboy, but I do I have a pretty good feel for the types of creatures that inhabit the Aliens world, and the aesthetic that is used in the movies.
On a whim, a month or so ago, I downloaded this game. I had never played another aliens game. This game is a third person shooter, can generally be found cheap in the PlayStation store, and while it was released like eight years ago, I was playing it for the first time in December of 2024.
As someone who had seen the movies, I was immediately drawn in by the dark spaceships with flickering lights and the crew nowhere to be found Rattling vent covers that would occasionally fall to the ground with the sound of scurrying feet heard trailing off in the distance let me know our Fireteam was not alone. Basically, this game had me hooked from the get-go.
Sadly, with it being an older game, and me late to the party, there aren’t too many players to be found who are playing it. If you haven’t tried it, give the game a try, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Personally I would love to play with other players who are looking to play the more difficult levels. Unfortunately, these levels can’t be done alone, you need a solid team to be able to take down the Alien hordes.
I’m playing on the PlayStation 5, but it does have cross play, so if you’re on an Xbox or a computer, we should be able to play together. We just have to share a code between the two systems.
If you’re on PlayStation, feel free to add me. My gamer tag is Valdarez. Just let me know that you’re from Operation Sports and looking to play Aliens Fireteam Elite.Last edited by Valdarez; 02-21-2025, 09:06 PM.Comment
