This isn’t like the show right? Meaning you control the pitcher and fielders on defense and batter /base runners in offfnse?

Is it more like say manager mode in the show but more gm based?

Manager mode with more in-depth GM side with a commissioner hat if you want to wear it as well for altering league structure/rules, etc.

You can be manager only in OOTP. Some people love playing that way and dealing with what the GM/owner does with the organization. If you played manager-only in The Show, you can do that here with any team in your universe.

You have some control and the plays/outcomes are animated (I quite like the graphics but you have to admit they are primitive compared to The Show's graphics). However, it's more like press a button-->watch an animation happen rather than controlling player models in an open world environment with a joystick. Definitely no stick skillz in OOTP, lol.

Re: Tell me about ootp

One thing I love about ootp is the customization.

I run a fictional league, with uniforms and logos I either found on the ootp forum or created.
I've been playing this league for several versions of ootp bringing it forward similar to the show.

I prefer fictional because then there's no preconceived expectations for how the Yankees or Mike Trout should be doing.

By creating the teams and having all the graphics for them along with facegen and rules/options settings every league can be unique and yours to shape.
