T.J.'s Time Machine - NES Open

T.J. is back this week to take us back to the release of NES Open in his time machine!

Quote:
"A constant theme throughout the first several editions of the Time Machine have been games that where ahead of their time. This week, it's no different as we go back to 1991.

Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls won the franchise's first world championship with a four games to one win in the NBA Finals over the Lakers. Scott Norwood made "wide right" a household term as the Giants beat the Bills, 20-19 in Super Bowl XXV. A 15-year old golfer named Tiger Woods won his first USGA title, the U.S. Junior Amateur, and NES owners who doing some golfing of a different kind with NES Open Tournament Golf."

Awesome game and great article. I remember playing this vaguely, wasn't much more you could find for golf back in those days.

Kinda crazy they had the career numbers, some games nowadays can't track all that...

OMG I loved this game!

Part of it was the Mario factor of course, but I also liked the close-up shot of the ball dropping in (or not). And of course, replays.

I loved this game, it was one of the few games my dad and I played together. He also played it in one player mode which is something I never remember him doing with any other game. We would show off our replays, especially since I didn't believe he got a hole in one.

I loved the game back in the day. It's on the Wii Virtual Console....just like ol' times!
