Re: OS Roundtable: PlayStation 4 or Xbox One?

I think that people that claim to be waiting E3 and after, are doing so due to one of these reasons:

- Might not have the money to do the cross over without a loan and are hesitant
- Just recently bought a current gen console and feel satisfy with it and wont do another investment this soon
- Are going by past experience and will wait to avoid early system failures and unpolished games (more like mere ports, just graphically upgraded)
- Want to see if the hardware differences between bot next gen consoles do translate into something noticeable from one to another
- Want to have as many confirmed/official details as possible about both systems and their restrictions (specially)

While it is highly unlikely that some of the things already confirmed will change, the fact remains that there is some time left before launching and things could happen (be it unlikely or not) that may alter ones opinion of what system to buy ... even things not comming from such systems and companies, like finally having my 3rd world country provide 24/7 electric energy and internet or mandatory digital cable, or that I get a job at MS Xbox division, just to name a few.

Highly doubt 15 exclusives will be out this year

Yea that would be impossible. When they said that they were meaning 15 exclusives within the first year they meant from this nov to next nov. Whether half of those are kinect games or not i wouldnt get all excited about them till we know what they are. First impressions of both right now i would go ps4 first then xbox one later. The ps4 looks like its centered more around gaming while the xbox one wants to be a entertainment system.

I'm going to go with PS4. I'm not too big on voice commands anyways with Xbox One but I think it's good they're doing what they're doing because it just provides another option on how to watch tv. Consumers need options. The way I see it, however, is the PS4's better specs will let me play games better, and the PS4 will have Netflix, movie renting, definitely an improved online experience, etc. If this means I have to use my remote to switch inputs (takes 1 second) and use my other remote to change the channel (also 1, maybe 2 seconds) then whatever. Switching with the Xbox cuts like 1 second, maybe. I'd want to buy an Xbox at some point but PS4 is most likely first. Also, the price of the systems and online service subscriptions will be factors. I think the prices will be closer this time between the Xbox and PS4 but I'd still get the PS4 if it was $100 more expensive, probably not past that point though.

PS4 for sure, but eventually both. I'm not really interested in the non-gaming features of the XB1...I've already got hardware for that: an asskickin' Pioneer receiver that has everything I need hooked up. I'm not getting either one at launch though. Bought the 360 at launch and got the infamous red rings of death 2 months later...3 years and 4 consoles later I finally got one that works!
