    EA's Big Move into eSports (Roundtable)



    EA announced a big eSports initiative in their Press Conference on Sunday -- specifically talking about a tiered tournament system for Madden. This is pretty big news and could signal a big change in the direction sports games take over the next several years. We asked the OS Staff what their opinions were of the news...

      Not sure how this is a big move, they used to have a TV show where people competed for money. Been tournaments and Madden Bowl year after year.

      Until they do an actual team-play mode, like the 7 on 7 mentioned in the article, this doesn't seem like news.

        Could care less as long as they don't ditch franchise modes.
        I interact with people all day for work, I like to take a break from actual humans when I'm gaming 😂
        Don't take away my beloved franchise modes!

            But EA backing the esports community, would be bigger for the NHL series.

            Personally I have always though EA should run major events for all of their sports games. The series communities would get bigger and I think better as well.

              I hear you. They kinda do already. They take members from the LGHL to Vancouver for their development days.

              LeagueGaming also has a 2k league for Xbox. For the most part the site is primarily hockey, but they do have a few other sports they include. Rocket League as well.
