I cant agree more about how fun this was. My father, brother and myself would play this for hours, each taking turns when someone would lose. Today, games are too long and drawn out for this to happen, and it turns off a lot of people. My father used to be able to pick up this, or NES Golf, and just play. Now, he says its too hard to get into a game, and is tired of all the loading scrrens and choices. I wish more games were less complex and more about the fun factor.

Re: T.J.'s Time Machine - Ice Hockey

a great game. when i was a kid we used to pile all the kids in the neighborhood into my basement and have tournaments. we'd draft teams and play to see who was the champion. after it was over, we'd just do it again.

this game also fueled one of the great sports debates of all time ...

what combination of skinny, medium and fat guys was the best?

go too fat and you were slow and easy to steal from. go too skinny and you'd be pummeled. go too medium and the skinny guys would steal from you and the fat guys would muscle you.

I had forgotten about the scrums where there would be a cloud of dust with the little guys flying out, and then jumping back in. Great stuff.

yeah those fights were good times. my dog would go nuts from the chirping sound the crowd made during the fight.

I would say that the NES fights were better than the fights on NHL 08. And I am not being sarcastic. Realismwise they both get a 0 out of 10, but at least the NES one was fun and funny.
