ESPN NFL 2K5 vs. Madden NFL 08 Part Four

This week we see part four of Will Soistman's series which is comparing Madden NFL 08 to ESPN NFL 2k5. This week soistman compares the presentation aspects of the games. Does Madden even stand a chance? Read part four of the ESPN NFL 2k5 vs. Madden NFL 08 comparison to find out!

Quote:
"In ESPN, a virtual Chris Berman runs down the match-up that is up ahead and gives his take on what could happen. He then hands the duties over to Dan and Peter for the play-by-play duties. They rundown who they think will make the biggest impact in the game as cameras fly by to show the player warming up. Even the coin toss has its own animations with the captains coming up and choosing heads or tails and the referee making the call. From the coin toss to key players the pre-game introductions are phenomenal and never seem to be repetitive."

Yeah I don't think anyone can say that even today NFL 2k5's presentation isn't the bar that all others are still compared to. I also think that EA missed a golden opportunity to capitalize on getting the ESPN deal. It seemed like 2k layed the ground work for them to have outstanding presentation.

It's a shame. 2K was on the verge of a great, great football franchise.

....as we are now talking about what may be NFL 2K's strongest point.
Nobody would be saying anything about 2K5 with out its outstanding gameplay, that remains, 4 years later, more then competitive.
I dont see a '09 comparison turning out much different.

I agree with this article to the fullest. EA should absolutely ashamed that a four year old game is so much more realistic and entertaining.

2k is still the bar by which all other football games are just off of. its like a phophecy that people look to to judge other prophecies. amazing, i was playing this game last night and it still looked better than all the next gen football games i have played. without competition there is really no need for improvements.
