The Nostalgia Lists: Three Favorite Sports Games


Nostalgia is sort of an odd phenomenon, when you really think about it. Naturally, we tend to look upon items, events, and moments in our past lives with a fondness that may have not actually existed back when they were more prevalent than they are now. So how exactly are we supposed to evaluate those things properly? Its not an easy task, and ranking some of our favorite sports games from our childhoods is no different. But here at OS, were going to try and put ourselves up to the task by ranking three of our favorite sports titles as children.

I loved NBA showdown 94 (SNES) some units had Barkley and Jordan
I loved NFL2K dreamcast
I loved NBA In the Zone PS1

Going to show my age but I guess if I was to list the 3 games that at the time dominated my hours of gaming they'd be the following:-
1) Match Day 2 - ZX Spectrum
2) Ice Hockey - Atari 2600
3) Football Champion - ZX Spectrum

Bltiz was awesome! So was JAM. Of course I remember Triple Play as well.

Do you folks remember Bird Vs Jordan on the Genesis? I lost hours (and sadly most of my puberty) on that!
