Kinect-less Xbox One to Sell for $399

Microsoft announced this morning that they will begin selling a new version of the Xbox One without the Kinect for $399. This news comes after it has become apparent that the PlayStation 4 is outselling the Xbox One at a pretty good pace.

The Xbox One has had issues throughout its life-cycle with its image, and this new turn may or may not help the console repair that with consumers. It is likely to help sales, as consumers now will have a more pressing reason to purchase the Xbox One as the same price as the PS4.

More of a thought now...but if I'm not mistaken, you still have to pay for access to Netflix (outside of the Netflix $8)

A smart move by Microsoft. However, of the two consoles, I would say Sony is still the better deal. Both consoles are severely underpowered imo. Hard to believe we will have them for 5-6 more years, while PC technology is just exploding and growing exponentially by the day it seems.

Too late, this likely would have had me on M$ at launch but too late at this point, I'm sure I'll get one in a few years once they have that can't miss exclusive

Should have been a launch option..but either way I was burnt enough by M$ and the 360. PS4 all the way until XB1 is $199

Thats nice and everything, but I switched to ps4 this gen and I'm loving it. There is no need for me to ever get an xbox one.

Seeing as my Kinect is still in its wrapping I only wish this option had been available from day 1.
