I echo the sentiments of Matthew Coe... extremely underwhelming E3 in the sports genre overall.

This is in large part due to the fact that marketing/advertising have run their course in this genre. Buzzwords and catchphrases simply don't work anymore. It's all about what is under the hood nowadays. People have been burned far too many times now with marketing jingo. We want to see real gameplay vids and try demos before forking over our hard earned money.

That is why The Golf Club gets my nod for 2014's outstanding sports game. The fact that they put it out there on Steam Early Access, and to respond to feedback as well as they have. I mean they are actually listening. Not just giving yearly small upgrades which are used to milk and fleece fans. Breath of fresh air.
