Hey Rich, if you lose in the Champions League playoff round or you finish 3rd in the Champions League group stage, you automatically go to the Europa League. Other than those 2 ways, then your guess is as good as mine. Also, totally agree with you on the draft. Complete waste of time.

Yes the third place team in Champions league Group Stage goes to Europa League knock out round. While the Champions League knockout stage starts with 16 teams, Europa League starts with 32. So Liverpool and Sevilla meet in the final this year, Sevilla having finished third in their Champions League group (after winning Europa League last year to gain a Champions League group stage.
