How about the fact they keep dumbing down games for the "casual" gamer. What the hell is a*casual gamer in the world of sports. They dumb down basketball and football games yet leave games like AFL Evolution and Cricket alone to figure out. Why did they feel that making The Show "more accessible" by*removing all of the sim aspects that made it great.* If you are over the age of*21, chances are, you are not trying NBA 2k19 or Madden 19 out for the first time. I just hate the fact that I find so much more joy in playing the older versions of these games due to the fact they had more to offer. Everything except modern physics and current rosters.**

This article alone really makes me feel down on sports gaming for the future. It's clear what the focus is on now and I don't fit the demographic.*

It seems soon there won't be a true simulation of the teams and players we enjoy watching. It'll all just be online fantasy team matchups.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

I haven't been buying sports games as much.

I just want to play good Franchise modes. MyLeague in NBA 2K is great with all the customization and details. Madden not so much.*
I don't get the appeal in buying card packs in a video game. And I don't care for online play.
