First snowfall of the season expected to hit tomorrow.

Really not looking forward to that.

Last year already sucked winter wise, but at least commute wasn't as bad because many were still at home.

Now we're getting ready for the first "back to normal" winter since 19/20.

Is everyone in the midwest and east ready for this week's polar vortex/snowstorm?

Debating on using some of my PTO for Thursday night because the time I would be leaving work is when the temperature is supposed to crash and all that rain is expected to flash freeze on the roads.

On the west coast we are expected to get 6-11" of snow this week. A white Christmas here we come!

We got two feet last week so I’m just numb to it all at this point.

I heard the term "bombogenesis" for the first time in my life. Guess it means "bomb cyclone" which sounds terrifying. Apparently in simple terms this means we're getting a winter hurricane. Woof

It's one of those terms (explosive cyclogenesis) that's been around in meteorology since the 1970s. Only recently has it entered into public consciousness.

It's where the barometric pressure drops 24 millibars in 24 hours in a low-pressure system.

The pressure is forecasted to be around the same as what is expected of a CAT 3 hurricane, although obviously, the dynamics of a standard low-pressure system and a tropical system are very different.

Here in Denver it’s currently -10 and tomorrow the high is -7 with a low of -18. Think we’ll have about 3.5” of snow.
