Did you ever play with or against a pro athlete in High School?

Basketball: Played against Rick Brunson who went by Eric Brunson back in the day. Also played against Scoonie Penn.

Football: Was a high school teammate of ESPN's Todd McShay.

Played against former Dolphins Fullback Rob Konrad as well.

Lost a state championship to Anthony Fasano's high school team in 2001. He's a Dolphins tight end now. Our towns were right next to each other and we were big rivals; we still play them every year on Thanksgiving IIRC. Even back then, you could tell he was going to go pretty far barring injury. He was just so much more physically developed than most other guys and had tremendous hands.

I took his girlfriend (don't know if she's current) to our baseball dance. She played volleyball, just as friends!

One of my great friends plays for the S.F. Giants (Nate Scherholtz). Been friends with him since the 3rd grade (both 25 now). I only played him once in little league because he was usually always in the top leagues in the area. He cranked a double off of me. Other then that I would just watch his games in little league and high school ball, college ball, minor league ball, up until the pros....and also in the Olympics. Dude's been a stud since he was born. Fun as hell to get drunk with.

Not yet in any major leagues or whatever, but several are signed to professional contracts.

I went to high school with Pat Misch (SP, Mets). We would play against eachother in a bunch of sports during gym, if that counts.

Played with Ryan Lilja. Starting LG for the Colts.

Played against Darren Sproles. I've never felt so helpless while playing sports.

One of my good friends scrimmaged against Blake Griffins high school. Said Griffins hops were INSANE. Pretty sure they got massacred.

McShay was the starting QB from his sophomore year on. He basically went unchallenged for the position after freshman football. He was a solid player. A pure pocket passer since we were power I team with play action mixed in. I dont think we ever threw 200 passes in a 10 game season while he was there.

Four years ago my buddy and I played at Greenlake (famous courts in downtown Seattle) with 7 samoans and Shawn Kemp LOL. Two white guys, 7 gigantic samoans, and Shawn Freakin Kemp. It was a blast.

Rogers Beckett (former Charger and Bengal) was a DB on my high school team. Also, Brent Bartholomew (former Dolphin and Bear) was the last guy before me to play my position in high school.
