Going back for a second degree..

Picked up my B.A. in Psychology in May of last year and now going back for an Associate's in computer technology. Anybody else decide to go back to school or have a big change of career ideologies? I know there is good money in computer technology and programming as well. Still love psychology but am really not ready to go to grad school yet.

Great job market and pay for almost all of those as well. Especially work with data.

I already have my MBA and I have been working on a second masters in Acquisition and Contract Management. It's been challenging because I think I have gotten dumber since I last went to school, but it hasn't been as bad as I thought it would.

I switched majors from Political Science to Electrical Engineering. I lost about 40 credits. I should be done in about 3 years!

I mean this with all due respect, my friend.

Why is a second degree necessary? I still think for several professions in workforce that a degree shouldn't be required.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

Depending on the field you can get more money, get a promotion, more job security, etc. And I agree with you about the last part. There are jobs out there that shouldn't require any degree but do.

Perhaps it's not but these days it certainly helps with many jobs. I've never been driven by money and I've always loved learning so it's fine with me. Plus the connections you can make can be invaluable for your career.

In terms of the IT field, I think at the minimum an Associates would be helpful to transition. I work in the IT field, mostly on the legal side with those coming overseas, but the field is definitely booming.
