    Hurricane Florence

To all of our fellow OS'ers who are in the path of Hurricane Florence, please be safe. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours during this storm.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I'm about 160 miles inland and we're expecting long term power outages, lots of flooding and all the downed pine trees your heart could desire. Gas stations are already running out of gas and grocery stores are running out of things as well. All this and my area isn't even supposed to start feeling the effects until Thursday night.

I've been paying more attention to this the last couple of days and it's on nearly the same path that Hurricane Hugo took in 1989. I was 4 years old when that hit Charlotte, but I have vivid memories of the impact. Hopefully it doesn't do as much damage as that storm did.

Looking like this is going to be a weird path. Stalling either offshore or a little inland, then moving southwest down the coast and going across South Carolina. It's going to dump a lot of rain and the flooding will be huge on the north side from the storm surge if it stalls.

We also have a typhoon coming our way but we will get the tail end of it hopefully. Just strong rain and wind at the moment but who knows how this will shift.

If you're on the coast, just get in a ****ing car and drive away. As far away as you can. Don't just stop after 100 miles.

Seems like Hurricane season is coming upon North America with a vengeance. I hope all our OSers in Hurricane country stay safe this season.

Be careful, I don't know how well the Philippines are when it comes to protecting/helping citizens in the wake of typhoons but it can't be nearly as good as it is in North America. I'll be thinking of you as well.

Looks like it's going to meander offshore for a bit before heading inland, stay safe.

My parents finally left early this morning and headed to family in Florida from SC. I knew it was going to be stressful when moments like this would come up and I am not close to them to help and get them moving. Parents definitely don’t like to take advice from their child but they were being really stubborn.
