Science Fair Project for 6 year old

What up Dads:

Any of you guys have a good idea for a fun Science Fair Project for a 6 year old? My daughter has one coming up, and I'm blanking.

If anyone has a suggestion please let me know!

PS, looking to keep this pretty easy.

Volcano made out of paper mache. It's simple and cheap to make. I made that when I was a kid in the 1st grade for the science fair. So did my siblings, nephews and nieces. Pretty much a science fair staple for young kids.

Re: Science Fair Project for 6 year old

When I was in college, I staffed a few events designed to educate young children about science with one of the clubs I was in. A couple things I remember doing with the kids was making putty and growing crystals (I think they were mostly sugar and the kids could eat them afterwards). Other ideas could be a model of the solar system or 2 liter bottle whirlpool/tornado. You could probably find tons of other idea just by Googling.

Can't get any less expensive and fun than talking through the cups attached by a string.

My favorite is seeing which types of food grow mold the fastest.
