Sure but not after one week.

Yeah, no need to be worried.
Maybe because it hasn't spread as quickly with a billion people and more than 11 million people at the epicenter?

I'm not worried, yet, but one scientist halfway around our globe vs the CDC stating around a year to hit the US public?

Death rate has nothing to do with transmission rate. The reason the death rate was so high at the epicenter is because nobody knew what was going on. If anything, the death rate should go down even further than .89% as time goes on.

Not to mention, the death rate at the epicenter is currently 2.87%. So you have a 97% chance of living if you are in the epicenter which is one of the most impoverished places in China where nobody knows what's going on.

You do know scientists can share research, right?

I remember when SARS was supposed to be the end of mankind.

Then it was bird flu.

Then it was swine flu.

Then it was ebola.

Then it was west nile virus.

There is impoverished areas all around the globe in many large cities, including the US. Heck, my wife was in the city of Harbin(northern most province) for work before the virus was really taking off. She came home in a nick of time, but Harbin is in no man's land up there, it's the only large city in the province. At least, Wuhan has Shanghai that isn't too far away. 1 hr plane ride, my wife is in Russia, another hour the other way, she is in North Korea.

All we can do is make sure we are vigilant because even as I open up more news on it, there are more reported cases in many different countries than 24 hours ago.

Plus, the first death in the US reported today.

Ok............

I think it's time for more reflection vs brushing it aside as if nothing happened, high health risk or not.

It's still sad and a tragedy, plus, I heard a nice person.

I'm sure she won't be the first, either.

Giving factual information is not brushing it aside.
