YEAR 5

Auburn Honors the 2018-2019 Tigers who won their first National Championship since in Pasadena over the Louisville Cardinals 35-23.

Auburn also Honors SR RB Aaron Hicks who won the Heisman Trophy. Hicks came in as the #1 rated RB in his class and in 4 seasons ended his career on top as well.

2019-2020 Season Preview

The Auburn Tigers enter the season in a 17 game win streak that includes a National Championship. The stakes are high as they try to defend their title but there is good reason to believe that team can pull it off.

OFFENSE:
The offense starts with SR (RS) QB Andrew Hamilton. He has an NFL arm and 4 very talented WRs and TEs to spread the ball around to. The 6'2 SR Greg Hamilton is the physical beast of the WR group, but Jackson, Gaines, and Washington can break away on any play. The TE group may be even more talented with 3 SR TEs who are all among the best in the country. The Oline is the best that Coach Junior has had since taking over at Auburn. The only question mark on this offense is if true freshman Dustin King is as good as advertised. He has the skillset that fits this offense perfectly but he is a freshman. If he just has a decent year Hamilton will do the rest.

DEFENSE:
The defense will be great again. This staff has done a great job recruiting the past 4 years and they are reaping the benefits. The DLine is solid across the board, good size and talent at all 4 positions. No telling who will be the star of that group yet but they may not need one. The Linebackers will be scary again this year. Kevin Jones is the playmaker but he may not even be best LB on the roster. Scouts say that Caleb Kirkpatrick may have the bigger NFL upside right now. The Auburn CBs will make life hard for every team in the SEC this year. Last year they had a breakout year as a group and they are all back and better. Damon White is the under the radar superstar waiting to happen, the coaches think this will be his year to shine. The safeties are first year starters but they should be ok with everything this defense has.

PREDICTION:
Auburn may or may not have a better team than last year. There are alot of new starters but the build of this team is perfect for what they run. We think the Tigers can will make a run but because of so much being unproved we think they may drop a game or 2, possibly early. If they can survive the gelling process back to back SEC Championships are a very real possibility for the Tigers despite losing their Heisman RB and SR leader at QB.

2020-2021 Season Preview

The Auburn Tigers enter the 2020 season with 2 back to back National Championships, 2 back to back SEC Championships, and 31 straight wins. Alot of new starters at key positions this year will raise a few question marks.

OFFENSE:
One thing the Tigers are glad about is that despite having alot of first year starters, there are no position battles. The my have the guys that they want where they want them. RS Soph QB James Wilkinson will be throwing the first passes of his career this season but the coaching staff has already that this is their guy. At RB the Tigers are deep. Dustin King will still be the guy but they also have Earnie Washington who had a good year last year and the big guy Mike Robinson is back after a year off. This could be more of a running team just because of their depth. At WR the go to guy will be SR Dane Washington who broke out last year and is one of the best in the country. He will be accompanied by a group of talented redshirt and true freshman who the coaches think will be fine. Having Scott Hampton at TE will help as well as he is the top TE in the country. The Oline should have another great year with alot of talented guys across the board.

DEFENSE:
The defense is just as inexperienced as a whole, but should be fine in this system. This year it starts with the CBs. Damon White and Robby Long will be the first 2 corners taken in the draft this year and the guys behind them are all speed demons. Both safeties are returning from solid seasons so this team should be tough to pass against. The LB unit is young and not as deep as it has been but with the talent on the dline led by big Travis Hall in the middle who elected to come back for one more year, the Tigers should still be good up front.

PREDICTION:
Wilkinson will be throwing to a very young group of WRs, this makes the passing game a big question mark. Auburn is talented enough to be a run first team but thats not who they have been so we will have to see how it plays out. With another good defense and the tougher games this year being at home we think Auburn could go for a 3rd straight title, but the winning streak could end this year. 11-1 if Wilkinson is ready, 9-3 if they struggle to pass.
