Re: Rivals Newsfeed

GAME OF THE WEEK College Gameday will be in the state of Alabama for the primetime game on Saturday night. Auburn is #3 and has a legitimate shot of winning what will likely be the toughest last 3 games of any team this season with #18 LSU, #4 Alabama, and whoever they face in the SEC Championship. LSU has the better team on paper but Auburn has managed to rank top #6 in rushing offense, #1 in pass defense, and #1 in overall defense. LSU has the #7 rushing o with a very similar rushing style but Auburn up until this point has just been dominant all year and with this one being at home they like their chances.

Oregon and Washington are playing for a spot in the Pac 12 Championship. Oregon with a top 10 running attack and Washington with a top 5 run defense. This game has huge implications on the Pac 12 because it not only affects the 2 teams playing in this game but Oregon State will be watching the score to see if they can keep their name in the running after losing to Washington last week.

Another big game in the ACC, a conference that has been in the national spotlight all season long. GT is at home and we all know to expect from them offensively but they are going against a very underrated Virginia Tech team who is actually 1st place in the Coastal division right now. The Hokies have been under the radar but if they can get past the Yellow Jackets they will likely be the team to try and knock off #1 FSU, who they didnt have to face this year. Georgia Tech didnt face FSU either and they feel like their option offense gives them a great chance if they can just get to the game.

GAME OF THE WEEK Bama has gone under the radar this season especially with 2 early losses, but as we've seen in past years they are right back in the hunt when it counts. Auburn lost their first game of the year last week a tough LSU team who pulled off a hige upset so now Auburn will have to deal with the issue of getting back their focus. They went from playing for a national title to still being able to win the SEC if they can pull it back together. With Alabama at #3 right now Auburn is also in a position to play spoiler for their biggest rivalry.

FSU is undefeated and has already proved to be the best team in the country, in the ACC, and in the state of Florida. They have already proved that they can beat anybody and they have already proved that on the field, BUT.... that means nothing! Florida vs FSU is historically one of the bigger well known rivalries in the country and although an upset is highly doubtful, FSU needs to get past Florida to have any chance of their dream season staying alive.

FSU vs Florida is the bigger game but this is the most important game in the state this week. UCF is #9 in the country and has a chance to go back to a BCS Bowl game after missing one last season because of this very game. This rivalry as it is today is more about the coaches than the players. UCF will play in the AAC Championship regardless of the outcome but what happens after is directly affected by this game.

Oregon State has worked their way back into relevancy after a slow start and has been playing do or die for 4 weeks now. Although they weren't able to make it out untouched they did have a little help and still have a chance to get to the Pac 12 game if things play out in their favor 1 more week. Oregon is off of a tough loss to Washington who is also in this 3 way tie but they have no plans of losing back to back games with a superior team. We'll see if that option offense can have success against a well coached Oregon State defense.

NCAA Y10 CCW

GAME OF THE WEEK
Florida State is without a doubt the best team in college football this year. They or on top and everybody else is playing catch up at this point because nobody has been able to finish them off. Virginia Tech has won 8 straight with some very impressive wins but have yet to get a shot at FSU. The Seminoles 2 top RBs are out this week including their star Dalvin Cook so the passing game against a defense that has only given up more than 10 points once in their last 5 games. The Hokies believe they have a chance. This game is monumental because the BCS dominoes wont fall into place until the winner of this game is decided first. Clemson at #3 in the BCS polls could potentially slide into the championship if FSU or Auburn are to lose this weekend so an ACC rematch is very possible.

The SEC did not have one of their better seasons historically BUT they still have a chance to come out on top if Auburn can get into the title game. Auburn is ranked 3rd in the country but 2nd in the BCS over a Clemson team that doesn't play this week so the assumption is they win they're in. Auburn faced Georgia in their annual rivalry earlier this year and won 16-10. Any win over a rival is a big win but doing it twice is hard to do. Auburn earned a spot in this game after beating their biggest rivalry Alabama who would have been in their seat right now so the emotions and confidence are extremely high for the Tigers going into this game.

Minnesota at #4 has put together the best season in Minnesota history and this with a first year head coach. The hype and credit is nice but all of that means nothing if they dont finish the job. The Gophers had 10 games decided by 7 or less this season including a 30-27 win over Ohio State on the road. That game was in mid September so these teams are both a little different now. Minnesota is the favorite having gone 9-0 in the B1G this season but Ohio State is a much better team on paper and with a 10-2 record its hard to think they're really only the 17th best team in the country but they'll have their chance to prove it.

Washington at first glance seems to be a surprise at #5 but with wins over 4 ranked teams and 7 straight wins they have put themselves in the conversation. They are pretty healthy right now and have a top 10 offense and defense so they fully expect to be in the Rose Bowl this season. Arizona had a stretch of 3 straight losses to Oregon State, Washington, and Oregon all by 3 or less so they were a few plays away from being a 2 or maybe 1 loss team right now. They definitely have the talent to steal this win but they have to finish the game against a better overall team.

UCF is having the type season they expected to have. They dominated a conference full of inferior teams, took care of their biggest rival at home, and are now 1 game away from their second BCS Bowl game in 3 years. ECU overachieved after losing their head coach from last season and have one of the best QBs in the country but they are outmatched in this one. UCF won the first meeting 52-20 and we dont expect this game to be much different. With McGowan still out at RB you would think that would give ECU a little hope but UCF has a systematic offensive attack that has them with the #1 ranked offense in the country so they should be fine without him. Expect UCF to finish the job.

Re: Rivals Newsfeed

NCAA Y10 Bowlweek

BCS National Championship

Last year FSU was 1 td away from a National Title but OU edged them out at the end. With the team that FSU had coming back they knew that they had a chance to get back to this point and they were determined all season to prove that they were the best team not only this year but last year as well. They are 13-0 and the nations only remaining undefeated team after sweeping through the ACC. Their opponent is not only the best team in the country next to the Seminoles, but also a rival in #2 Clemson. Clemson was viewed as the biggest threat to FSU before the season started and now with a second chance to knock them off the throne. Clemson was #3 at this point last season and barely missed the championship so they had alot to prove as well and as fate would have it they will get their chance.

The biggest story of this game is the status of QB Deshawn Watson who is still ruled as questionable for this game. Tiger fans obviously are hoping to have their star QB for a game of this magnitude but Clemson coaches say he is highly doubtful. If Clemson is to win this game either with their star QB triumphantly coming back to lead them against the best team in college football, or the Soph QB who stepped in and slayed Goliath, either story will be epic, but for the Seminoles that means they have no excuse. They have been the best team all season long and now is not the time to have their first bad game of the season. FSU won 14-10 in the first meeting and in a game like that turnovers are huge. The #1 stat for Clemson's Deshawn Watson is the number 1, 1 interception all season. They will need to protect the ball whether they have him or not.

Heisman

The Georgia Bulldogs were more than proud of their do it all RB Sony Michel who won this years Heisman Trophy. Michel started the season behind Nick Chubb, who will likely be the #1 tailback taken in this years draft, but after an injury that sidelined Chubb for the majority of the season, Michel was able to take full advantage of his SR season and cap off an amazing year with college football's most prestigious trophy. The race this year was wide open as several names were in the conversation throughout the year but Sony was the last man standing after a 250 yard rushing performance in the SEC Championship against an Auburn team who was expected to play in the National Championship. Georgia's big upset win gave Michel the push at the end of the year.

NCAA END

Florida State wins the National Championship 42-14 over rival #2 Clemson. The Seminoles finished 14-0 and wrapped up what was arguably the best season in school history. The Seminoles defeated Clemson at #2 twice, UCF who finished the year at #2, rivals Miami and Florida in the regular season, and rival Virginia Tech in their second consecutive ACC Championship.
