Re: PAC 12

Ucla season preview!!!

Coach Jp comes into the 3rd season with a team that just hasn’t been able to get over the hump. This year will be no different, we have some real talent on the team but also a bunch of talent that graduated or pursued there nfl dreams.

Offensive breakdown
Second year in the system for most of the offense this team will go as far as this unit takes them. The biggest key will be limiting mistakes. At qb both Derrick Miller and Braylon Jenkins are back, Miller will start but Jenkins wi see the field if mistakes happen.

Rbs
This is a deep group but unfortunately very young. Jordan Bell is expected to carry the load, but it may be rb by committee, the likes of true freshmen Tremaine Foster, Talon Bailey, and sophomore James Wesley will all see touches.

Wrs
Simply put our downfall the last couple of years and it will be no different this year. Our two top wrs last year entered the draft. The group will be led by Brandon Jennings who is a speedster but he has his fair share of critical drops. The rest are all young but at the moment Dexter Jamison and Braxton Green will battle for the opposite spot.

Tes/Hb
This group is very solid led by Te Jermaine James followed by hb Josh nugent who will be lined up in a variety of positions, Rs Fr Anthony Holland will see plenty of action this year as well.

Oline
The tackle position is the most open with this group. All three Thomas, Parks, and Brown struggled last season. As of now Thomas is locked in at one spots and Soph Brown can win the other if he doesn’t make the same mistakes he made last year. The guards are strong this year with both Mike Thomas and Mike Fenner returning, these guys love to flat out mall people. The center will be Aaron White he will kick over from Guard where he started every game as a true freshman he should be solid with his abilities the question is can he learn on the fly.

This coaching staff is excited about the defense, coach Jp prides himself on the defensive side of the ball and have performed very well throughout his tenure. The key will be no letdowns this season and young guys will have to step on and make plays.

The dline is the unit most hurt from departures. At De Dillon Pope returns to lead another young group. True Fr Kyle Kearney is expected to take the other spots unless Julian Sanders or Adam Miller can hold him off. At dt we lost 4 outstanding kids, Tracy Howard returns and is expected to be a beast but had very little playing time, the off tackle will be Ken Carpenter, he slides inside from de. The only concern is can he hold up being undersized, behind him is 3 freshman that are not ready to play.

Lbs
This is another unit that has lost 6 lbs in the last 2 years all starters, Rontavious Parks will solidify one olb spot while youngsters Hakim Bates, and Terrence Butler will battle for the 2nd. Andre Lewis will take over at Mike with little behind him.

CBS
This is the most experienced and talented group on the team. Holmes, Conley, Walls, and Jackson all played last year. Holmes and Conley will start both are considered to be of the elite status. The nickel will be whomever the hot hand is.

Safeties
This is another position where our top 3 are gone. Matt Cantrell will start at the stinger spot with his speed and tackling ability this sophomore should be fun to watch. The spider spot will see Alex Sapp take over he moves in from Corner if he can learn on the fly he has the skills to be a great cover safety.

Overall we are solid, if it all comes together and we can manage to get by USC and Utah we have a shot at making a run.
