Re: RIVALS 2025-2026 DISCUSSION

Ohio St beats Kentucky in a game where we couldn’t get out of our own way. The wrs again failed to get open or even compete for the ball. Evans throws 2 picks and is benched for Hampton. Kentucky led 10-7 at half and received the kickoff to start the 3rd. The game changing play was the 1st play of the drive where Ellis stepped in front of a deep in a returned it for a td. After that we used a 4 back rotation pounding the rock while minimizing pass attempts to pull ahead 28-10 Uk would go robo in the 4th but it was to little to late Osu hangs on 35-25.

Osu 355 yards

Evans 9/12-87 td 2ints
Hampton 3/4-76 td
Mays 16-89 td
Kelly 10-41
Watson 8-57/ 5-32 2 tackles
Copeland 7-34 td
Jenkins 3-73 td
Ellis 6 tackles int td

Uk 276 yards

Burton 24/35-240 3tds 2ints (12/12 1st half)
Ross 5-36
Held to 36 yards rushing
Turner 5-73
Gray 5-68 td
Young 9 tackles int

Re: RIVALS 2025-2026 DISCUSSION

WEEK 9

***** GAME OF THE WEEK *****
#4 TCU 6-0 (2-0) @ #6 Texas 5-1 (3-0)

This rivalry has peaked since the arrival of Coach Rodriguez to Fort Worth. Prior to his arrival Texas and Dorsey never really had much worry from TCU, but since his arrival from his Toledo team that played for a National Title, TCU has been the biggest thorn in Texas's side. The Texas OU rivalry has run the conference for decades and as OU fell off a couple years ago after losing Kiffin as OC, it seemed that Texas was set, but this matchup between the Longhorns and the Hornfrogs has been one sided. TCU was a 2 loss team coming into this game 2 years ago and beat UT 31-24 in Austin. Last year TCU was 1-5 at home against #6 Texas and won 21-14. This year TCU has the best team they've had under Rodriguez and they are looking to make it 3 straight and get back to the Natty. On the field the player to watch is Sam Hill. He's a 6'3 280 manchild at DE and he leads the country in sacks with 14, his sophomore year he finished with 22. Hill is the most dominant player in college football since Clowney and he is licking his chops for this game and a chance to get to Tate, UT's true freshman QB. TCU has the Longhorns number right now and based on whats we've seen on the field from both teams THIS year Texas is in trouble. The winner is likely playing for the BCS Championship at the end of the year because these teams are hard to beat.

***** GAMES TO WATCH *****
#8 Alabama 6-1 @ #2 Tennessee
- Tennessee was in this position last year but faded on the scene and Bama went on to win the title. This year the Vols have a chip on their shoulder and they want payback. They are at home in one of the biggest stadiums in America for this rivalry game but will the 12th man be enough?

#11 Clemson 6-0 @ #7 Wake Forest 6-0
- Clemson has been quiet the past couple of years and they are still a little slept on this year but it looks like they may be back. Wakes become the new GT in the ACC and they're proving that last year was no fluke. This game will be a match between skill and scheme. I expect the winner to be top 5 after this week.

#9 Florida 6-1 @ Georgia 6-2
- Head to head Florida favors Georgia in every statistical category except for 1 and thats rushing offense. There are more elite running teams this year than usual and Georgia surprisingly is at the top. #1 rushing team in the country with 305ypg. Florida has an impressive team and are in the title hunt but this game smells like trouble....

• One adjustment is allowed on no huddle offense

Re: RIVALS 2025-2026 DISCUSSION

Spartan recruiting continues to look good. We added 4* RT John Cook from Elon, NC, 3* WR Jason McCoy from Grosse Pt, MI, and 3* LT Jonathan Fontenot from Dalton, GA. Still need to pick up some linebackers and a center, but the trenches are looking good.

Re: RIVALS 2025-2026 DISCUSSION

We've got a win streak! 2-4 Michigan State upsets 4-2 Indiana 48-33 in front of a rowdy East Lansing crowd behind a great all around effort from the offense and defense. We got off to a great start on a 14 play 70 yard TD drive finished off by a dime thrown by QB Jacob Pratt, who was solid all game. After an Indiana TD drive, Pratt made his lone mistake of the game, on a ball that was tipped off a Spartan WR; the defense held strong in the red zone and IU went up 10-7. After trading TDs, Pratt hit WR Shane Colbert for a 77 yard TD (MSUs longest of the year), which was followed by an Indiana kickoff return TD. MSU answered quickly to make it 28-24 Sparty at half, bringing close to an exciting first half of action.

IU got the ball to start the 2nd half and quickly marched down the field, but a key 3rd down sack forced a FG. MSU drove down and answered with a FG to make it 31-27. What came next was the biggest play of the year so far; on 3rd and 2 from the MSU 25, MSU safety Nate Singletary HAMMERED Indiana's RB, forcing a fumble that was returned 70 yards for a TD to make it 38-27 Spartans, and we never turned back. This is my first winning streak as coach at Michigan State, and we've now started 2-1 in conference. A huge key was going 10-12 on 3rd down, with the only two conversions occurring in the red zone (for FG attempts).

Best part: Michigan State takes back the Old Brass Spittoon trophy. Go Spartans.

MICHIGAN STATE 48, INDIANA 33
MSU: 430 yards (90 rush, 340 pass)
Pratt: 25-32, 340, 2 TD, INT, 2 sack. 5 rush, 18 yards, TD.
Gordon: 23 rush, 59 yards, TD. Wheeler: 4 rush, 8 yards, TD, 2 rec 14 yards
Colbert: 9 rec, 161 yards, TD (77 long). Kent: 8 rec, 115 yards, TD.
L Hayden: Fumble Recovery, TD. Singletary: 4 tackles, TFL, FF

IU: 338 yards (234 rush, 104 pass)
O'Neill: 10-14, 104 yards, TD. 2 sacks. 6 rush, 16 yards, TD
Green: 15 rush, 127 yards. Weisbecker: 6 rush, 84 yards, TD (62 long)
Stewart: 5 rec, 38 yards, TD
Andrews: 6 tackles, INT, TFL
