WEEK 6
***** GAME OF THE WEEK *****
Ohio State comes in at #1 for the 2nd straight week but #1's have not faired well this year at all. In fact this year overall has seen a crazy amount of upsets in the top 25 week after week so Ohio State better be ready. The Buckeyes beat 2 very good teams this year in #7 Alabama and #21 Louisville, but neither of those teams have great offenses. This will be the first time all year that their defense will face a team that can put up points and yards in Northwestern who is currently #1 in ppg with 43.5 and #6 in total offense with nearly 500 ypg. Northwestern hasn't faced a defense as tough as Ohio State's either who is currently #2 in Total defense. The Buckeyes defense looks better statistically because their power run game keeps teams off the field, just as Northwestern's offense looks better statistically because they haven't played a quality defense yet this year. The matchup between Northwestern's O and Ohio States D will be the key to the game because we assume Ohio State's offense will be fine as long as they can keep it on the ground with Harris Jr. who is making a name for himself nationally as he moves up in Heisman conversation. If Northwestern can get a lead early and force 1 or 2 turnovers this could be a game that goes down to the wire.
***** GAMES TO WATCH *****
#11 PENN STATE @ #7 ALABAMA
• Alabama's 2 losses are against #1 and #3 in the country so while many people wanted to throw them out after starting 0-2 the pollsters knew that they would bounce back and now they are favored to win against a 4-0 Nittany Lions team that they are superior too on paper.
#5 NEBRASKA @ MICHIGAN
• You dont normally get a top 5 team vs an unranked team that matchup this well but I like Michigan to pull off the upset. The Wolverines defense can play with anybody and when their QB is good they are a top 10 team easily. This will be a great game and could be a preview of the B1G Championship.
#4 MIAMI @ SYRACUSE
• Miami has struggled against this team every time they face each other, ESPECIALLY on the road. Last year it took a comeback by the Canes to steal the win late in the game but if it takes that again their luck may not be as good this time around. Cuse always shows up against the Canes. Upset alert from the opening kickoff.
