Arkansas gets a hard-fought win against #8 Oregon St in the Cowboys Classic.
Oregon State came out on fire and playing with abandon. After Arkansas received the opening kickoff and worked it down for a field goal, Oregon St just hammered the Arkansas defense on the ground to make it 7-3 at the end of the 1st.
Ensuing possession after the kickoff, Arkansas QB Ramsey is drilled and fumbles which is scooped up by the Beavers for a #ScoopNScore. 14-3 Beavers. Arkansas special teams curbs the momentum as kick return Medley houses the return 100 yards to make it 14-10 Oregon State. Not to back down, the Beavers again just thrash Arkansas on the ground as HB Mark James busts loose after breaking tackles to scamper 52 yards and the score. Back and forth it went the remainder of the second quarter. Each team scoring TDs when they had the ball... Score at the half 28-24 Oregon State.
Second half, Arkansas used the philosophy, bend but don't break. Oregon State was still able to move the ball on the ground but had a key interception thrown that turned the momentum in Arkansas's favor. Oregon State was able to kick a field goal in the second half but otherwise was shutout from scoring. Arkansas was able to pick-up 3 second-half TDs to come out with the win 45-31.
