Watching it on twitch now...it appears to be fully English translated, unlike PYS.

Nostalgia bomb from the 2007 PS2 game. And this is probably something that you can purchase with the points you get from other Switch purchases.

Re: WBSC eBASEBALL: Power Pros Available on Nintendo Switch For $1

I wondered why the game sounded so quiet, went into the audio options, and saw that Konami turned off the commentary, crowds, and player sounds by default, presumably because they're still speaking in Japanese. But the gameplay atmosphere improves a lot once all that stuff's brought back to life.

I didn't have time to do anything last night but create 1 team to play with and 1 team to play against in Exhibition mode (there are no prebuilt clubs to use; you have to make everything from scratch using the old-fashioned roster editor), but it basically seems like the same Power Pros game that they've been releasing for the entirety of the PS4's life cycle, just with a lot of the fanciest features and text-/cutscene-heavy modes stripped out.

This WBSC edition's graphics also seem pretty toned down compared to the mainline, JP-Region Power Pros entries, to the point that it feels like this might be some sort of smartphone port? I've never bought any of PP mobile apps, so I don't have a point of reference to those. But my 7-year-old Power Pros 2016 disc has much better textures, models, and lighting than this WBSC release.

The CPU is still no slouch, even on "normal" difficulty. They executed hit and runs, were aggressive AF going for steals and trying to take extra bases, plus made good use of their pinch hitters and bullpen pitchers.

My only issue with the game remains the PS4 controller itself, as its left joystick just isn't fit to maneuver the hitting/pitching cursor with the level of finesse that the higher difficulty settings demand.

Maybe the left stick is easier to steer on Nintendo Switch?

I agree, I'm having a helluva time trying to hit when playing Championship against other humans. When playing against the COM, I can do a little better because the blue circle appears just before the pitch whereas online I don't get any head's up until the pitch is released giving me almost no time to move the stick.

Has anyone found a way to edit names or ratings? I see how to create teams and add/remove players from those teams but I seem to be limited to the players the game gives you.

I'm not exactly looking for hyper-realism in a game where a pitcher with an octopus on their head throws an ink ball as a signature pitch, but it would be nice to know how far the customization goes.

Unfortunately unlike other western sport games pp focus on playing to create aspect(all the main game mode is literally built around it).I recall in the main game if you want to create a player you have to play success mode, pawafes mode, eikan 9 mode, or my life at the end of each season. Therefore they certainly will not offer an traditional create a player mode because it will remove the need of playing those modes. About this wbsc version the fact all those modes is absent from this release mean that you will not be able to make a custom player(except they have a plan to add new game mode for 1$ game which i doubt it)

And all the characters konami gave us are from the old success modes with their unique ability and appearance so it easy to understand why they dont want to give us the ability to customize those characters in a game focus on online competition.

Bought this yesterday on my PS5. I'm very excited to finally jump into it today. I've heard so many good things from a handful of baseball friends and creators I know so I am pumped that it has released with an English version and just for a dollar.
BFR's future is still TBD, stay tuned for updates

The japanese version of this game (pawapuro 2022) is the best single player video game in the market. This series is what sport game should have evolve into. The fact that It has more offline contents and single modes than mlb the show and sbm3 combined and is made by KONAMI is pretty funny.

I hope konami will localize this franchise so it will get the respect it deserves. The fact that this franchise is rarely mentioned despite people have been raising smb3 which has cartoon graphic & better team customization but less modes, its franchise mode even has less feature than pennant(seriously the only single player mode), prospy which nearly the same gameplay but has less mode & features(can not create team is a deal breaker), and mlb the show which should be called DD the show where you can not even make 2 different rtts players while pawapuro (power pros) is the best selling baseball game in jp . Idk when i can make my own thread to rise awareness about this franchise 😭. We need more voices to let konami know that this franchise need at least an eng version or better a mlb version.
And well my english is pretty bad
