What is High Heat Baseball?

I keep hearing that people like this game, and that it is better than wsb, and asb2003. Can someone tell me about this game, what are the features/modes?(i.e., franchise, expansion, throwback uni's, graphics, create-a-player....)

high heat 2003 is for the PC and ps2. On ps2 there is no franchise mode and thats why i did not buy it. otherthan franchise and expansion mode i believe there are all of the standard features. The PC version has a franchise mode.

The big attractions of High Heat are that players behave realistically (throwing, running) and that outcomes (home runs, outs, etc.) happen close to the same frequency they do in real baseball. Unlike just about every other baseball game, you can control players without worrying that your stats will be horribly skewed by your skill level. The biggest drawback of High Heat is that the graphics, animations, commentary, etc. are way behind more mainstream console games.

High Heat is on PS2 and PC.

Also, if you don't like having much control over what's going to happen, but are extremely worried about the stats turning out true to real life, then High Heat's the game for you. I personally much prefer to control where I'm going to pitch rather than just choosing between "ball" and "strike", for example. If I'm going to play a game, I want it to be interactive, and based on my actions, not randomly determined by the CPU. I also prefer it when the games I play on my $300 console don't look like I drew them. But then again, that's just me. No offense to you HH fans, of course. To each their own.

There are slider bars Stretch,that you can turn all the way down if you want the arcade experience. Also the sliders can be juked for pitch speed and all other aspects of this game. The graphics while not as good as WSB or ASB,are not as bad as everyone makes them out to be. Its not cursor based either,which may or may not be a good thing,but that depends on the gamer. Its the gameplay that will hook you. You can draw walks in this game at a realistic pace as compared to the others,and you can have games where all the runs in a game score without a HR. It all depends in what you are looking for in a game. Go rent it and give it a whirl. If they had comparable graphics of ASB or TP for that matter,nobody else would even be talking about the other games.

Ain't that the truth! If HH had "awesome" graphics, the other games would have to improve drastically or go out of business. Look at it that way.

Classic BG. Too bad most people are missing out on one of the best sports sims ever. Like it or not, bottom line is it plays a super game of baseball. Just my opinion BTW.

i agree...this game is the best now if only the graphics pick up this season,with "live updates for rosters this year it cant get here soon enough......i buy it every year.......
